About

Dancers facing one another inside a circle of spectators beneath pink, orange and blue stage lights.

I am a long-time member of Toronto’s Street Dance Community. My creative influences come from the artistry I see in battles, jams, clubs and theatrical presentations. What continues to amaze me is the level of real time control dancers display, and how this is channelled into raw emotional expression.

That appreciation led me to ask what other tools we could offer to honour and expand this high level of play. Experiments between live instrumentalists and street dancers grew into Feed-Back through a Dance Curatorship with Dancemakers. KUDA carried that curiosity into a party, with dancers reshaping the room through the cultures they represented.

Much of the practice that shapes my work comes from Black cultural traditions where improvisation, exchange, music and community are inseparable. I seek to provide culturally informed spaces that allow Toronto’s Street Dance Community to show its artistic depth, strength and beauty.
